What makes it live resin badder

Live resin starts with plants that are frozen fresh at harvest instead of being dried and cured, which keeps more of the original terpene profile intact. Our Memory Loss is grown in our indoor garden in Las Vegas, extracted in house, and whipped into badder: a soft, frosting-like consistency that is easy to portion. Because nothing is dried before extraction, live resin badder tends to carry a fuller, truer version of the plant’s aroma than concentrates made from cured material.

Aroma and flavor

Memory Loss is a sativa-leaning hybrid with a haze-forward nose: pepper and incense up front from its Amnesia Haze side, over OG depth, with a sweet bubblegum and fruit finish.

The genetics: Archive Seed Bank

Memory Loss was bred by Archive Seed Bank of Portland, Oregon, by crossing Amnesia Haze with Archive’s Face Off OG male.

Archive is the work of breeder Fletcher Watson. He moved from Virginia to Seattle as a teenager and spent more than two decades collecting, preserving and developing cannabis genetics, including old-school Pacific Northwest cultivars that might otherwise have been lost. In 2016 Archive opened its Portland shop, the first seed company in the U.S. with a retail store where you could buy seeds and clones. The Face Off OG line is the backbone of much of Archive’s work: it also produced Do-Si-Dos, the strain behind our 2023 Las Vegas Cannabis Awards win for Best Live Resin.

The parents

  • Amnesia Haze — a Dutch sativa-leaning haze developed in the late 1990s from classic Haze crossed with landrace genetics from Afghanistan, Hawaii and Jamaica. A fixture of Amsterdam’s coffee shops and a High Times Cannabis Cup winner there, it brings the citrus, pepper and incense side of Memory Loss.
  • Face Off OG — an OG Kush phenotype that surfaced in Southern California in the late 1990s. Archive selected the #4 seed from a small pack and backcrossed it, and that OG line contributes the fuel-and-pine depth under Memory Loss’s haze.
